Overall Protein is a lab test that measures absolute proteins. The proteins include albumin and globulins. Proteins are the main foundations of tissues within your system. Albumin is a protein. It moves other things and drugs, like hormones, to where they`re wanted in the blood. Globulins will be such matters as antibodies` makers. Proteins are needed for the growth and repair of tissue. They are also within all tissues and human body fluids and do lots of tasks that were vital.

Why do I want it?

Caregivers might want your blood tested to help find out problems you might have. These problems may include:

• Impaired (weak) nourishment. )
• Chronic (frequent) swelling.
• Liver and esophageal disease.

• Some types of cancer.
• Kidney ailments (illness).

How do I prepare for the evaluation?

Your caregiver will tell you when to have your blood test done. The blood test may be done before or after eating.

How is the specimen collected?

A caregiver will put a wide rubber band around your arm and tighten it. Your skin will be washed with alcohol. A small needle will probably be placed to a vein in your hand or arm. The tube has suction to pull the blood into it. After the tube is full, the rubber strap, needle and tube are removed. The caregiver will press a piece of cotton where the needle was removed. You may be asked to hold the cotton on the website for a few moments to help stop the bleeding. Tape may then be put over the cotton on your arm.

How can I do after the exam?

You will remove the tape and cotton in about 20 to 30 minutes. Call your caregiver. Your caregiver will explain what your test results mean that you. Follow the instructions of your caregiver.

You have the right. To help with this plan, you have to learn about your laboratory tests. After that you can go over the results. Assist them to decide what care may be employed to treat you. You also have the right to deny treatment.
